Template Plaza: a starting point for your next creation

VibePaper · Updated

When a video catches your attention, the next question is often how it was made. Template Plaza connects that curiosity to a practical starting point: previews, prompts and creative content you can bring into your own canvas. This guide explains its purpose, how to use it, the technology behind it and the directions we want to explore next.

01 / What is Template Plaza?

Template Plaza is where you discover and reuse creative content in VibePaper. Preview an example, explore its prompt and structure, then bring the template into your own canvas to keep working. It gives the impulse to try something a concrete next step.

What a template contains depends on what its author supplies. It might pair a prompt with an example video, or include a canvas snapshot with assets, nodes and connections. Review the contents to understand what you can reuse and what you still need to add.

The preview helps you choose a direction; the editable canvas gives you room to develop it. Keep a shot’s pacing while changing the subject and setting, or use its structure to tell another story. The template provides a starting point, while the creative choices remain yours.

02 / Why preserve the creative process?

A finished film rarely explains all the decisions behind it: how references were combined, how motion was described, how shots were connected or which experiments were worth keeping. Another creator may still have to work through those questions from a blank canvas.

Templates let some of those decisions travel with the work. An example gives a prompt context. Assets and connections make parts of a process visible. When authors organize reusable content, others gain something specific to inspect, learn from and adapt.

This also helps the original creator. Saving a useful arrangement gives a similar project somewhere to begin. Over time, individual experiments can become a collection of methods that you return to and improve.

03 / What value does it offer?

A template can reduce the preparation needed to start. Its longer-term value comes from helping you understand a creative decision and adapt it to a different task. Both the quality of the example and the clarity of the method matter.

  • For individuals, templates offer a quicker start and a record of useful methods.
  • For teams, concrete examples make goals and approaches easier to discuss.
  • For a community, reusable content lets experience circulate and invites new interpretations.

04 / From browsing to making

Start with the curated previews or open the full catalog to explore categories and tags. Cards with a video cover can play on hover, helping you judge movement and pacing. Image covers remain static.

Select a template and review its example and prompt. When you are ready, choose Use template to bring its content into your own canvas. Previewing and importing are separate steps; browsing does not start a generation task.

On the canvas, inspect references, text and connections. Add generation nodes if needed, or adjust the settings already provided. Existing examples help you compare your intent with a result; you still start new generation tasks yourself.

05 / How templates become editable canvases

A template combines discovery information with reusable creative content. Its name, categories, tags, description and cover support browsing. A canvas snapshot preserves nodes, layout and connections so the content can be restored in an editor. Media is referenced through resource addresses; watching an existing video does not regenerate it.

The catalog presents browsing information first, with full content retrieved when needed for use. Templates with a snapshot build their import data from that snapshot. Templates supplied as workflow descriptions are converted into canvas content. Both enter the same canvas import process.

During import, nodes receive new identifiers and their connections and related references are remapped to avoid conflicts with existing content. You then edit the content in your own canvas. Changing text, moving nodes or replacing assets does not write back to the original template in the plaza.

What you receive is a reusable creative state. Whether it is ready to generate depends on the nodes provided, the availability of its assets and the parameters supported by the current model. Generation runs through the canvas task flow, with results returning to the relevant nodes. Previewing, importing and generating therefore have distinct roles.

  1. 01Catalog and previewDescriptions, covers and examples support discovery.

06 / What makes a template worth reusing?

A useful template keeps its example, explanation and actual contents aligned. People should understand what the example demonstrates, which assets to prepare, what they can change and which steps remain to be completed. Clear information reduces guesswork.

The current home preview uses a curated selection, while the full catalog provides access to more published templates. Accounts with publishing permission can organize and publish content from the canvas, including an optional video cover to help others preview it.

Paper TV supports discovering work and visual inspiration. Paper Skill describes creative methods that can be carried out. Template Plaza brings concrete content into the canvas. Together, they can support a path from discovering an expression to understanding its method and developing your own version.

  • Explain the use case and what is most useful to borrow from the example.
  • Identify the subject, product, setting or other references that should be replaced.
  • Preserve necessary text, connections and a readable canvas layout.
  • Explain which parts are examples and which are executable steps, including any missing setup.

07 / Where we want to take it next

Further development should make templates easier to find, understand, use and revisit. The following are product directions; specific features and availability will depend on what is released.

For content, expand useful examples across filmmaking, commerce, social media and artistic work. Each addition should have a clear purpose, with understandable input requirements, steps and a meaningful relationship to its example.

For usability, make it easier to replace assets, review parameters and judge whether a template fits a task. More explicit execution order and adjustment points would help people understand templates with several steps.

For maintenance, improve version and compatibility information so people can assess templates as models, parameters and assets change. Feedback from actual use can guide selection and ongoing improvement.

For the community, make sharing experience and continuing someone’s work a smoother cycle. Authors can explain their methods, while users contribute questions and improvements that help those methods evolve.

08 / Begin with one small change

Choose a template close to your goal and change one main variable. For a product film, keep the original pacing while replacing the product reference and relevant text. Review appearance, movement and the intended product emphasis before deciding what to adjust next.

Changing the subject, setting, action, aspect ratio and model at once makes the result harder to interpret. Small experiments help you understand the template and develop your own judgment. Keep useful changes in your canvas so your next project has another place to begin.

Frequently asked questions

Does using a template immediately generate a video?

No. It brings content into your canvas so you can edit, add inputs and review settings before starting a task. Existing example videos are provided for viewing and reference.

Will the same template produce exactly the same result?

That is not guaranteed. Inputs, prompts, models and settings affect the output. A template provides a reusable starting point; new results still need review.

Will my changes affect the original template?

No. After import, you edit the content in your own canvas, including its text, assets and node structure.

Why do only some covers play on hover?

Templates with a video cover support hover playback. Those with only an image cover remain static. The cover format does not describe everything the template contains.

Can I publish a template?

Publishing currently requires template publishing permission on your account. Enabled accounts can organize and publish content from the canvas; check your account interface for availability.
